A Second Installation created as a follow up for the the a group show “Sublime Banalité” at Les Prairies de Paris store in Paris.

The Triangle vs. Cube installation is play on perception of space and reality, and the complexion of human communication.

The Installation is composed of a half cube, constructed of mirrors, in the center of which a half a triangle is placed.

Animated white lines, are projected on to the mirrors and reflected upon the half triangle to create a virtual structure.
This structure, as we see it, exists only as a mirrored, kaleidoscopic image.

The Structure assumes a different shape depending on the point of view of it’s audience.

At 2 PM on Wednesday afternoon I receive a frantic text message: “Nat! I’ve had a massive night!! Can we shoot later please?” I was prepared for a disruptive turn of events. Mimi Xu is a professional DJ and her life style is anything but predictable.

“Jungle Hurt” by Mathematiques Modernes (1981)

I can’t not explain how much I have always loved this song. Coolest groovy drum beats with a cold hearted female vocal. What more to ask.

“Triangle” by Jacno (1979)

Another great French underground artist. Really hypnotizing track. I dig this video.  Jacno is one of the most incredible music pioneer here. He also wrote best pop songs in the 80’s for the likes of Etienne Daho, Lio, François Hardy…Let’s not mention he was quite cute. He died a couple years ago…

“Suis je normale” by Nini Raviolette (1980)

Wow, totally weird dark drumless bips and minimal synth chords…I bet it sounds better if you don’t understand the lyrics. These days, you can make it out of an iPad. Interesting track though…
